In late 2017 I experienced profound visions to the point that I doubted my sanity. The nature of them led me to a Native American Shaman living in Melbourne, who after hearing me talk about these visions, invited me to undertake an apprenticeship with him.
I was given the name WhiteFeather and overall, his mentoring helped me to navigate, stabilise and normalise a collaborative experience with that which is outside of the typical framework of perception.
Since then I have been integrating shamanic practice and have come to a point now of exploring this framework of perception through photography.
'Crossover' is a recent body of work that examines specific visions and dreams as photographic montages, as well as
drawings from my early adult years spent working as a Cameleer and Jillaroo in Central Australia, Arrernte Land, that reflect my initial powerful experience of animism that this sacred place so generously presented.
